    シェップの持味を十二分に味わうには、メンバーが少な...

    シェップの持味を十二分に味わうには、メンバーが少ないアルバム(トリオ作やデュオ作)の方が断然良いが、このアルバムもそんな１枚 (この他 マル・ウォルドロンとのデュオ作も良い) 個性豊かなピアニスト、ダラー・ブランドが自己を抑制してシェップの味わい深い表現を引き出す。シェップ自身も抑え気味に吹いているのがまた良い。 松田優作主演の映画『人間の証明』のテーマ(大野雄二作曲)も取り上げているが、完全にシェップの作品だと思わされるほど自分の世界を繰り広げている。 スローなバラードとブルースで構成されるこのアルバム、買って損はない。いや、ぜひとも持っていたほうが良い１枚！！
