★今作『The Girl From Ipanema』は、アントニオ・カルロス・ジョビンの最初のアルバムで、クラウス・オガーマンが編曲した 12 曲のインストゥルメンタル曲が収録されている。この12曲のうち、ほぼすべてがジャズのスタンダード曲である。ジョビンはギター とピアノの両方を演奏しており、このアルバムは 2001 年にラテン・グラミー賞の殿堂入りを果たした。
★ボーナストラックには「Corcovado [Quiet Nights]」、「Desafinado」を含む 4 曲が追加収録。
