Balladacious

Amy Francis is a native Texan, born in Corpus Christi, TX and raised in Poteet, TX. She was raised on gospel, country and bluegrass music. With parents as gospel singers she was surrounded by music her whole life. Much of her childhood was spent behind the piano and microphone at church. This gave her a venue to mold her natural musical abilities. At the tender age of fifteen she landed a professional gig as a vocalist for a local wedding band in San Antonio,TX. Every weekend she had gigs all over Texas. This was where she learned stage presence and honed in on her musicianship. Through the years she has been a vocalist and performer in Las Vegas style show bands, variety bands, country bands, jazz combos and rock bands. She has been performing professionally for 20 years. Currently residing in San Antonio, TX with her husband and 3 children, she is active in the local music scene. Amy has performed across the country in places like Las Vegas, Reno, Palm Springs and all across Texas. She also performed in the Janis Joplin Annual Birthday Bash in Port Arthur, TX as the featured Janis impersonator in 1997. In addition to performing live, Amy is a songwriter and has recorded two albums. She has also been featured vocally on many albums including performers like The Luke Olsen Band, Two Tons Of Steel, Jake Owen and has worked with studio great Lloyd Maines. She has done numerous commercial jingles for various local businesses as well. Amy studied music at the University of Texas at San Antonio focusing on voice and piano. Amy managed her own musical group for 10 years. She is also a former featured performer in the San Antonio Rose Live Classic Country Music Show. Currently, she is releasing her brand new album 'Balladacious.'
