Product Description

Amandalynn is a singer-songwriter based out of the Tampa Bay area. She got her start in music at an early age, singing before she could even talk. Her classical music training started at age eight with the obligatory piano lessons, later moving to clarinet. During middle school, she picked up guitar and ukulele, along with other odd instruments, and began writing songs. When Amandalynn and her father started performing together as The Barnkickers, she became enamored with the stage and performing as a singer-songwriter. Clarinet took her to the University of Tennessee to major in music education, but it wasn't the career she wanted. Amandalynn is now studying music at St. Petersburg College and performs both solo and as duo with her father accompanying her on bass. Her music is an acoustic mixture of indie and folk with some rock, pop, and tin-pan alley influences. She covers a wide variety of popular songs and has an ever-growing list of original compositions. With a diverse collection of instruments, Amandalynn offers a raw, organic, and unique spin on the singer-songwriter genre. Her songs incorporate modern and vintage sounds, lyrics that ring with honesty, and a charm that leaves listeners smiling. Amandalynn performs regularly at a variety of venues and music festivals. She has been featured in magazines including A Distinctive Style, Ukulele Player Magazine, and was highlighted in the Tampa Bay Times. She has performed on both live TV and radio shows, while the ukulele has taken her to uke festivals around the country. She is a current endorsee of Lorpinzi Ukuleles and has performed at their booth during the 2009 Summer NAMM show. She has contributed to a compilation CD to benefit autistic children, Square Pegs and Round Holes, along with Greg Hawkes of The Cars and 60's pop star Ian Whitcomb. Amandalynn has had the honor of singing with the Jackson Symphony and performing at the 2010 graduation ceremony at the University of Tennessee. She has performed with Greg Hawkes, Julia Nunes, and two-time Grammy winners Cathy Fink & Marcy Marxer. Along with being a performer and composer she has been an instructor for two years and presented workshops at festivals around the country.
