2005年の『What Happened』がピアノ・トリオ作品として大いに支持された、デンマークのドラマー、アレックス・リール・トリオの2007年新作は同メンバーによるライブ録音。タイトルの『High And The Mighty』は1954年、ジョン・ウェインが出演した同名映画のタイトルから。長年頭の中で鳴り続けていたというテーマ・ソングのメロディをいつか自分でもレコーディングしたいと思い続けていたリールの渇望がここで実現しました。ジャケ写も同映画からという思いいれようです。その他「Body And Soul」、「Shadow Of Your Smile」、そして「Smile」など極上のメロディを極上のトリオによる演奏でお届けいたします。

いいですね。ドラムが本当にメロディライン...

いいですね。ドラムが本当にメロディラインを奏でているかのようです。ピアノもよく歌っていて申し分なし！ 特筆すべきは、シンバルの「カチーン」という硬質感。本当に気持ちいい。
