Product Description

Seattle band Airport Way was born from three separate projects. Long time friends/music collaborators John Paul and Amos Morgan, who played in their first band together while in college during the early 2000s decided it was time for something new. With a couple ideas and young songs they started fresh with drummer Chris Burger, whom they had both played with in two different bands. Within a year they had recorded an EP which landed them spots in local venues and festivals across the state as well as a national music festival in Aspen, CO. Inspired by the immensely positive reaction by fans and venues, Airport Way returned to the studio in late 2011 to record their first full length album. Despite having a wide range of influences, each member can agree on a mutual love for Classic Rock, Hip-Hop, and Reggae. Going against the grain of popular Seattle music, Airport Way set out to create songs for the short but very sweet Summer in Seattle. This provided an upbeat pop ingredient that balanced the heavier influences, creating songs that are enjoyable, danceable, and still interesting enough for the critical ear. Airport Way has been likened by audiences and fans to Sublime, The Police, Men at Work, Cold War Kids, Groundnation, Fugazi and Maroon 5 and was most notably given a gracious nod from Colin Hay during a set at the Musicquarium Lounge in Seattle.
