City Of Paradigm

Access Royale are an alternative indie rock band created by Los Angeles' writer/producer Vee Styles and Washington DC's Charles Maven. Formed from a mutual love of Radiohead, Vampire Weekend, Muse and MGMT, the duo discovered each other via local ads in early 2011 and soon found themselves flying west to Los Angeles to shoot their first single, 'Hide.' The band's debut album, City Of Paradigm is bursting with uplifting messages of self-discovery and freedom. The opening track transcends genre boundaries, exploding with an intense percussion and guitar attack, before setting the tone for the rest of the album with a masterful counter play between Vee Styles (vocals and guitars) and Charles Maven (vocals and keyboards) that's reminiscent of the best of Pavement and Foo Fighters. Charles and Vee's vocals cut a razor sharp path through epic walls of sound, distorted low-end grooves and sweeping melodies that allow the musicians to showcase their expertise at molding gorgeously atmospheric soundscapes, while vocal harmonies soar high above the music. The independent release has garnered similar positive feedback from NME, Panic Dots Magazine, AU Magazine, Spinner Magazine, Who's Jack Magazine, iSpy Magazine, VPME, TNT Magazine, ArtRocker Magazine plus many others. One thing is for certain, Access Royale have found a sound of their own. It may be because only one member in the band actually reads music, or maybe it's because of the distinctly different influences each member brings to the group. One member is classically trained and the other influenced by retro American and British rock. Whatever the case might be, Access Royale is beckoning to become a band worth listening too.
