    坐禅とは何か、現代社会において坐禅は可能か。今世界的に禅がブームであるという。現代人の精神的病理に対する特効薬として坐禅や瞑想の効果が期待される。 坐禅は「手放すこと」であり、「心を整えること」を目的にした時点でそれは坐禅から離れることである。本書は「意図を持たずただ座り今を受け入れる」という、シンプルだが非常に奥深い坐禅についての筆者の考えがわかりやすく示されている。結論は「答えはない、ただ無心に座るのみである」ということであろうか。
