バロイトの演目に加えられていないとのことで、前の2作と合わせなんとなくワーグナー番外作品のようでしたが、聞いて見ますとなんのことは無い、どこから見てもれっきとしたワーグナー歌劇で感動しました。終始独特の緊張感のある合唱とアリアが連続します。ロネ・コロさんはリエンツィのはまり役であったようで、ドレスデン盤でも歌っておられます。サヴァリツシュさんとバイエルン国立の演奏も際だって素晴らしいです。ライブですし貴重な録音と思います。
