ハワイのオワフ島ノースショア。そこはサーファー達の聖地。ここにある巨大なチューブが形成されるパイプラインは、サーファーにとって憧れであると同時に一歩間違えれば死にも繋がりかねない恐怖のポイント。子どもの頃から天才サーファーと呼ばれてきたアンは数週間後にここで開かれる世界最高峰の大会“パイプライン・マスターズ”での優勝を目指し練習に励んでいた。しかし、以前サーフィン中に味わった大事故が原因で未だその恐怖心を克服できずにいる。そんな時、彼女はバイト先でフットボールのスター選手マットと知り合い恋に落ち、今までにない経験に夢中になる。一方でサーフィンへの情熱が薄れていくアン。そんなアンを親友のエデンとレナは歯がゆい思いで見ていた…。
