ジョン・ダウランドの『ラクリメ、または７つの涙』は、メロディーメーカーであるダウランドらしい憂いを帯びた美しい７つの『ラクリメ』からなる小曲集。ダウランドのヒット曲『流れよ、我が涙（涙のパヴァーヌ）』など物憂げな雰囲気を漂わせたメロディーが印象的です。
　またこのアリバムでは、スイスの作曲家カール・リュッティの作品『ダウランド組曲』（世界初録音）を合間に挟み込んだ構成で、エリザベス王朝で活躍したダウランドの人生を綴る内容となっています。
　演奏するのは、2003年にバルセロナで結成されたアンサンブル、ビー・ファイヴ・リコーダー・コンソート。ルネッサンス期の音楽から現代作品まで幅広いレパートリーで活躍を続けている注目のアンサンブルです。（キングインターナショナル）
