シューベルトの弦楽五重奏は、ちょうど交響曲「大ハ長調」と同様、それを聴いたことでシューベルトという作曲家への評価が変わってしまうほどの名曲にして大作である。演奏は、この曲の「大きさ、深遠さ」を適度に表現した演奏で聴くのがよいと思う。アルバン・ベルクＱにシフが加わった当盤が最適であろう。
