Product Description

There's no way around it. Widower's Fool Moon is a break-up record. It's the full-length debut that took songwriter Kevin Large four years to conjure out. It stems from heartbreak, the one tried and true remedy for many a writer's block. Great records rarely require innovation. Rather, they depend on execution and a singular perspective. This is Kevin Large's record. While there are plenty of themes and emotions that will resonate universally, these are songs that only he could have written. Following 2009's promising self-titled EP, Large continued to play Seattle as Widower, but struggled to write much new material. During that time, Large also fronted Petty Party, the Tom Petty cover band that Sound On The Sound called one of Seattle's best live bands. Through Petty Party and Widower's continued presence in the Seattle music scene, he was slowly able to build a band of his favorite Seattle players. Brian Wright, Jeff Fielder (Sera Cahoone), Ty Bailie (Mudhoney, Rosie Thomas), William Moore and vocalist Kaylee Cole all expressed the desire to play with him as soon as he was ready. Finally in 2012, the band met Large in Portland to record Fool Moon at Type Foundry Studio with producer/engineer Cory Gray (Castanets).
