On May 2, 1992, The Vinyl Goods recorded their first demo tape. Titled 'On Location', is was recorded live at a rehearsal studio in Schaumburg Illinois for the purpose of helping the band get gigs and sharing their music with friends. During the grueling 9 hour session, the band recorded 17 original songs. The tape ultimately served it's purpose, and the band began performing at local bars shortly thereafter. In the years following, the band significantly expanded it's catalog of original songs and in 1994 entered the studio to record their debut album, Coming Home. Only one song from that 'On Location' demo tape made it on the Coming Home album: 'Ten Thousand Miles'. The remaining songs resided in the band's archives until 20 years later. In September 2012, the band regrouped to re-record selected songs from that original demo tape, using modern recording equipment and in several cases altering the original arrangements. This album represents the results of those new recording sessions.
