PUNK-O-RAMA VOL. 9 follows its predecessors by packing plenty of killer songs into one specially priced collection. Epitaph Records major domo Brett Gurewitz kicks the disc off with "Social Suicide," an energetic track from his band Bad Religion's 2004 effort, THE EMPIRE STRIKES FIRST. As always, PUNK-O-RAMA serves as a guided tour through much of Epitaph's roster. Rancid layers Farfisa organ onto "Tropical London," Pennywise charges through the fast-paced "Now I Know," and Bouncing Souls represent the East Coast with the rallying cry "Sing Along Forever." Keeping the mix eclectic are Swedish garage-rockers Division of Laura Lee, Minneapolis hip-hoppers Atmosphere, and Danish psychobilly practitioners HorrorPops. As if this plethora of music wasn't enough, Epitaph goes one step further by including a bonus DVD with footage of bands highlighted on the compilation, including Matchbook Romance, the Weakerthans, and Motion City Soundtrack.
