パリを拠点に活動する4人組utopiumですが、出身国はフランス、ロシア、メキシコとかなり国際色豊かです。そしてそのサウンドも様々なジャンルのサウンドが組み合わされていて、王道U.Kロック (シャーラタンズ風） とポストロック（モグワイ風）、シューゲイザーが見事にとけ込んでいます。ヴォーカルの声自体が強い個性を持っているだけに、ポストロック的なサウンドを展開しても見事にポップな曲へと展開して行きます。U.K.ロックファン、ポストロックファン両方にアピールできるかなり画期的な作品です。
