Tribes

Ken Morris, Peggy Dennis and the late Scott Bennett - brought their own unique talents and years of experience together to create Unassisted Living. Singer/songwriter (Ken), musical genius and guitar guru (Scott) and velvet vocals (Peggy) create a unique blend of songwriting, voice and vision. Two and a half years of hard work, joy, creativity, synergy, sorrow, trust, and perseverance went into completing this CD project. We started recording in late 2010 with our friend and bandmate until his untimely death in October 2011. Scott's contributions to this CD can be found throughout - his voice and playing on 'Tribes', his genius when it came to vocal stacks, studio engineering and production which began at his recording studio, 'SoundHouse Studio' in Golden, CO. We, along with his musical community, were saddened by his death but grateful to have known and worked with him. Stephan Hume had the difficult, yet brilliantly executed, task of recording lead guitar and supporting vocals that would have been Scott's. Butch Hause - bass, Chris Stongle - drums, and Hannah Alkire - cello, arranged and recorded tracks at Butch's studio, 'The Ranger Station', in Golden, CO. Jared Hankins of 'Blender Design Group', created the CD jacket using the names of our Kickstarter.com supporters and Brian Hunter did the additional recording, all mixing and mastering at 'Sawtell Studios at Swallow Hill', in Denver, CO. Released in August of 2012, Ken and Peggy are very grateful to the talented musicians and friends who helped us to complete this musical journey.
