「初期のモデスト・マウスやクラウトロックからの影響を感じさせる」(SPIN)航空用語「Time Reference Angle of Arrival Measurement System」の頭文字から名前をとったTRAAMSは英ウエスト・サセックスのポストパンク・バンドだ。
メンバーはStuart Hopkins(V, G)、Adam Stock(D)、Leigh Padley(B)の3人で、StuartがホストをつとめたDJナイトと出会った。Stuartはそこで、メインストリームのポップやラップとともに、Wire、New Order、Le Tigre等の曲をまわしていた。こうしたバンドに加え、McLusky、Pavement Television、Kraftwerk等、音楽的に共通項を見つけた彼らはバンドを結成。2011年の中頃から一緒にプレイするようになった。その後、バンドはFat Cat Recordsと契約。EPのリリースをはさみ、2013年にはデビュー・アルバム『Grin』をリリース。2015年にはセカンド・アルバム『Modern Dancing』をリリースした。
