なんといっても歌がウマイ。他のカントリー...

なんといっても歌がウマイ。他のカントリーアーティストも彼と同曲を歌ういわゆる競作があるが、いずれもティムに軍配を上げずにいられない。彼自身は曲作りしないがどんなナンバーでも抜群の表現力があり、生まれもってのシンガーなのだと実感する。さて今作は大ヒットとなったEverywhere などと比べると曲調、演奏にカントリー色が薄れPOPな感覚を受ける。この次の30年間はこうありたい・・という意気込みを語る自身のライフソングのような⑫が印象的。

1999年にアメリカを旅して、現地の友達に勧められて買いました。当時カントリーミュージックなんてさっぱり分からなかったので、何となく聞き始めたのが、だんだん、ジワジワ、しみ込んでくる曲ばかり。自分にとってTim McGraw入門となったアルバムでした。
