最高傑作の誉れ高い《The Real Ramona》発表後、作品に華やかさと多彩さをもたらしていたタニヤ・ドネリーが脱退、ミュージズは解散の危機を迎え、クリスティンは心の病が再発。そんな満身創痍の状態で制作されたためか作風は暗く、聴いてていたたまれなくなる。もちろん、クリスティンの十八番、暗い情念の叫びを堪能できる作品であることも確かなのだが。
