Product Description

Entre Las Americas is Third International's second full length CD. It is a collection of soundscapes and grooves, interspersed with soaring melodies and insightful lyrics. As with the first (Beautiful Accident) it deals with social issues. This one is about the clash of cultures. Immigration. Imperialism. Manifest destiny and the great leveller that is planet Earth. Modernism vs. ancient traditions, opportunity vs. conflict. Upheaval. It features Andrew Pearson's songwriting. He sings and plays guitars and guitar synthesizers, giving the band it's rich sound. Pearson is an expert looper and uses the mode to it's fullest. His blues roots come out again in his playing, even though this album has less of a blues base than the last. Joining him, on bass, is Bill Foster (ex-Billy Cobham and Larry Coryell). On drums is Adrian Harpham. Adrian is a multi instrumentalist/producer talent in his own right, having made a name for himself on the New York scene recently. Adrian is often associated with New Orleans music, playing with the likes of Dr. John, Leo Nocentelli (of the Meters) and jazz giant Henry Butler. He also had a #1 single on the French jazz charts last year with Robin McKelle. Playing on several tracks, on cello, is Dave Eggar. Dave is best known for his work with Coldplay and also on Beyonce's last album. Dave is a Grammy nominee and when not palying with the New York symphony or doing sessions, he is often in Indonesia working on a government project to develop and expose the indigenous music there. This then, is the current incarnation of THIRD INTERNATIONAL.
