イギリスでの4枚目アルバム。1964年12月発売と矢継ぎ早のリリースのせいか、カバー曲が多い気がします。 Mr Moonlight、Rock And Roll Music、Kansas City、Words Of Love、Honey Don’t、Everybody’s Trying To Be My Babyがカバー曲になりますが、やはりオリジナルの方がかっこいい。 冒頭の「ノー・リプライ」は歌い出しにドキッとするし、「ベイビーズ・イン・ブラック」の少しブルーな感じも好き。 プロデュースはジョージ・マーティン。

来日の際、ビートルズ一行は、羽田空港から、当時開通したばかりの首都高をパトカーに先導されてキャデラックで移動していた。日本テレビでこの模様を放送した際流れていたのが、⑥であった。非常に有名で印象的な場面。この曲を聴く度に思い出す。

The BeatlesのBeatles For Saleは1964年発表の通算4枚目のアルバム。1曲目のNo Replyから始まり、最後のEverybody’s Trying To Be My BabyまでLennon/McCartneyの楽曲と、ロックンロールのカバーが聞ける。特におススメなのはEight Days a Week。
