Excited to share with the world some very potent drumming, Troy booked a recording session in early 2012 as a surprise birthday gift for Marilyn. Heat this evidenced on the melodic Burnin' a Wing when he can be heard playing a musical birthday candle. From the first notes of the gentle beginnings of Enchantment of Gratitude and the mind-bending metamorphosis offered by God's Cocoon to the lightening of the atmosphere in the title track and the thick throbbing of ordered chaos in the epic 14 minute Sea of 7 See, SonicsKin delivers powerful medicine. The positive chants and driving pulse of Step In Time along with the touching vocals exuding undeniable honour in M'Baraca ('Thank you') put the icing on the proverbial cake in the rhythmic exploration that is SonicsKin. What began as one man's experimental musical journey has morphed into dynamic rock/percussion powerhouse, Soundserious, Troy Falck on guitar, vocals, and percussion, and Marilyn Hatfield on drums, vocals and percussion. Spinning harmonic tales of life, love and consciousness, Soundserious has been thrilling audiences throughout North America with their original vocal harmonies and hip swaying beats interwoven with funky guitar licks and sexy rhythm grooves. Their music conjures realization that all is connected in the great web of life while taking the listener on a musical journey. In 2010 & 2011 they maintained a #1 position on the Reverbnation Rock charts for 36 weeks, and they matched that record in 2012! It was 1989 when Troy first picked up the guitar and was smitten, and he has yet to lay it down. In 1994, Marilyn took a west African dance course in college. That course blew her away with the live drumming and inspired her to change directions in schooling, buy a djembe and hitchhike to California to immerse herself in west African music and dance. When Marilyn and Troy first crossed paths, they did the rumba together, and sparks flew. 'We synced naturally from the very beginning,' recalls Soundserious drummer, vocalist and dancer, Marilyn. They soon began weaving their cosmic web of harmonies and rhythms with depth and conscious awareness.
