Sharp Objects

Recorded before his solo releases, Shorty Garrett Of Bent Willow and 8 Songs Of Christmas, this is some of the premiere recording efforts by Shorty. Recently mixed by 'the fifth Beatle' Jon Lindahl at Fresh Tracks PDX, the retro vibe of this album is brought up to date and comes out more polished than previous releases. The 'backup band' is basically Glenwood Exit with guest musicians added for extra oomph. Lo-Fi is traded for turn-it-up. Live show staples like the psuedo reggae / old timey What D'ya Know and the Orbisonish Time To Go are presented as recordings for the first time as well as the elusive and spacey The Edge. The opening track, Made In The Shade, will get you up dancing and it may escape one of the subject matter and the outcome of the protaganist. Going Slowly has a beachbum vibe, and Don't Call Me is a double entendre stop smoking ditty. The title cut, Sharp Objects, strips pretense away from the childhood jeer, sticks and stones. For The Money is what it is. Peaches draws a line in the sand. Devil Monkey is the kid next door to Tigers, growl. Finally, the long awaited release of Sharp Objects.
