13 tracks of traditional New Orleans jazz recorded in 1957 and 1958 by bay area jazz banjoist Sam Charters and his band. They play the music of Clarence Williams written in the 20s and 30s. Musicians include cornetist Dick Oxtot, clarinetist Earl Scheelar, pianist Bill Erickson and tuba player Walter Yost. Tracks include: Cushion Foot Stomp, Log Cabin Blues, Spanish Shawl, Nervous Breakdown.
