Product Description

Robert Korman was born in Philadelphia, Pa. in 1951. He grew up in Princeton, NJ where he started playing professionally at the age of 13. In the mid '60's he formed his first band, named 'The Null Set'. Playing covers of the rock music of the day, they became well known throughout the area, playing extensively at schools and other venues in the central Jersey area. In college, Robert went on to form the band 'Phoenix', performing in the Princeton, NJ and Washington, D.C. areas. In the 1970's Robert performed primarily as a guitarist/singer/songwriter, playing clubs throughout New Jersey, New York and Philadelphia. In the late '70's he created a body of work with renowned producer Richard Goldstein in New York City, recording an album's worth of original material. Goldstein, a master at vocal harmonies and symphonic orchestration, guided Robert's efforts though the early 1980's. Robert also worked as a singer, guitarist and arranger for the popular country girl group 'Soft Touch', who played the bars and clubs of central and south Jersey. In 1985 he relocated to Albuquerque, NM where he stayed active in the local music scene. In 2012 and 2013 he produced, performed and recorded a collection of his best songs, written over the years. The songs, most of which were originally written and played on acoustic guitar, are here rendered with guitars as well as keyboards, strings and horns. This is Robert Korman, So Far...
