■　超絶技巧のマンドリニスト、クリス・シーリーを中心に結成された技巧派アメリカーナ／ブルーグラス・バンド、パンチ・ブラザーズ。現在年内一杯まで続く全米ツアーに出ている彼らだが、今年2月にリリースした最新作『THE PHOSPHORESCENT BLUES』のレコーディング・セッション時に収録された楽曲を集めたEPがリリースされた。

■　『THE WIRELESS』と名付けられた本EPに収録されている楽曲のプロデュースを手掛けたのは、『THE PHOSPHORESCENT BLUES』と同じくTボーン・バーネット。アルバムには、4曲のオリジナル楽曲を収録。その内の１つは、カリフォルニアのシンガー・ソングライター、Gabriel Kahaneの作詞による「Sleek White Baby」。この曲のレコーディングの様子を収めたビデオも公開されている。

■　EPの最後を締めくくるのはエリオット・スミスのカヴァーになる「Clementine」。
