Only Perfect Rest

After releasing the debut 'Plan To Reverse Time' in 2006, the Pilots of Japan went walkabout. Gary moved to Asia, David to the USA, Matt, Dan and Ed in England and they all started having babies. Due to these constraints of geography and logistics, David decided to knuckle down and started putting his songs into order in his new home of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Written, recorded, mixed and mastered at his home, but with the ears of the other Pilot's never far away, the album is by far their most coherent and accomplished work to date, despite the distances involved. This record wears both it's worldliness and other-worldliness on both sleeves. Lyrically cutting and incisive, melodically catchy while still maintaining a charm and sunshine that is seldom achieved. 'Only Perfect Rest' is a mature but fun, all-season album that should put the Pilots Of Japan everywhere on the map.
