Peace Place

We are Symonds School, located in Keene, in the Monadnock region of southwest New Hampshire, New England, U.S.A., planet Earth. Symonds is a public Kindergarten- 5th grade school serving the community of West Keene, NH. Many of us walk to school, some ride bikes, some take the bus. We work hard every day! Every morning we greet each other warmly in the halls and in our classrooms. As we go through each day, we are reminded that listening and treating one another with respect will not just make a better school, it will make a better world. The administration, teachers, other professionals, classroom aides and tutors work tirelessly to maintain a consistent social curriculum of caring, sense of place, and belonging. Our school is cooperative and collaborative on many levels. Peace, Place embodies much of what we all experience in our school community. At our all school assemblies we gather to share what we have done in our classrooms and we sing the songs that bind us together. We believe in the power of song, movement, and togetherness. This CD was created with the hope that the Symonds feeling will be taken beyond the school day and to other places to foster peace and cooperation in education. Let every child's voice be heard!
