pat methenyのECMレコードで残した最後の作品。 2曲目「ヨランダ、ユー・ラーン」はミュージック・ビデオも制作され、MTVでもかかるようなポップな曲。 この頃来日ライブに行きました。1曲目の「フォワード・マーチ」から始まったこと、「ファースト・サークル」の手拍子を会場全体でしたことをよく覚えています。 ペドロ・アスナールが最初に参加したのもこの作品（1989年の『レター・フロム・ホーム』まで参加）で、僕の好きなアルバムが出る続いていく始まりのアルバム。

PMGといえばｹﾞﾌｨﾝ時代のｽﾃｨﾙﾗｲﾌ、ﾚﾀｰﾌﾛﾑﾎｰﾑ、ﾜｰﾅｰ時代のｲﾏｼﾞﾅﾘｰﾃﾞｲ等名盤は数多くありますが長く聴いてきますと最終的には本盤に戻ってきます(ﾌｧｰｽﾄｱﾙﾊﾞﾑではありませんが)やはりECMﾚｰﾍﾞﾙの作品です。自然と身体に染み込んできます。本物の名盤だと思います。
