Shake It

'SHAKE IT' is a collection of classic soul, funk, and R&B music performed by P.M. Soul to celebrate Twang Partners, Ltd. 25th anniversary of working, playing and staying together. 'SHAKE IT' also features special guests musicians in the form of a brass section, guitars, and two guest vocalists. It also includes two new P.M. Soul originals. We especially want to thank our friend, Tommy Trevino for partnering with us on this labor of love. We hope you all enjoy it! It was created for YOU! P.M. Soul is: Michelle Garibay-Carey (lead vocals) Daughter of R&B/blues legend, Randy Garibay, Sr., this Latina's talent is deeply rooted in soul music. So much so, that her heritage is sometimes questioned. Besides singing the National Anthem at the AT&T Center for San Antonio Spurs games, she has also sung with Kirk Whalum, Ron Brown, Will Donato and Blake Aaron. Her influences include Etta James, Nancy Wilson, Aretha Franklin, Chaka Kahn, Patti LaBelle, Anita Baker and Lalah Hathaway. Pat Carey (bass) A jazz/jazz fusion lover first, Pat lives and breathes music. In the last two years he has served as musical director for many local smooth jazz concerts and has performed most notably with Darren Rahn, Nate Harasim, Vincent Ingala, Paul Taylor, Nick Colionne, Jonathan Fritzen, Steve Oliver, Brian Simpson, Eric Marienthal, Peter White, Richard Elliott, Paul Brown, Jackiem Joiner, Cindy Bradley, Steve Cole, Jeff Kashiwa, Everette Harp, Jessy J, Will Donato, Blake Aaron, Lynn Riley and 480 East. Carl Spann (saxophones, flute) Carl's formal music education at the prestigious North Texas State University has served him well during his professional career. Although, Carl transcends theory and discipline and plays with a soulful passion that is an integral part of P.M. Soul's sound. Carl has been influenced by traditional jazz saxophonists such as John Coltrane, Charlie Parker, Dexter Gordon and Cannonball Adderley, as well as more modern artists such as Maceo Parker, David Sanborn and Kirk Whalum. Carl also has many performing credits to his name including Brian Simpson, Peter White, Ron Brown and Kirk Whalum. Way) Many have described P.M. Soul's style to be multicultural, multigenerational, smooth but funky, jazzy but groovin'. Some say that P.M. Soul's original music is similar to Anita Baker, Sade, Incognito and Lalah Hathaway. P.M. Soul rolls in the jazz, smooth jazz, new jazz, cool jazz, vocal jazz, neo-soul, fusion, contemporary R&B, adult contemporary, and easy listening categories.
