Digitally remastered and expanded edition of this 1986 album from the Scottish vocalist including six bonus tracks. The album was released off the back of the timeless pop classic 'My Favorite Waste of Time' that reached #3 in 1986. This collection features the album and 12 versions of five singles including 'My Favorite Waste of Time', 'Only for the Young', 'Pleased to Meet You', 'One World' and 'Bring Me Back That Spark'. Originally Paul was an apprentice for Scottish footballing giants, Celtic F.C. but apparently on hearing the Sex Pistols decided to opt for a career in music. It was to prove a wise move. However, after one successful year, Owen Paul left his label CBS declaring he wanted to only make music on his terms. Cherry Red. 2010.

おおっ！こんなＣＤも再発したんだぁ〜と思わせた1枚。 イギリス、スコットランド出身のオーウェン・ポールの’８６年にリリースされた１stアルバムに５曲のボートラつきリマスター仕様盤です。 ＃３(全英３位、アイルランド４位、ポーランド８位、スイス１９位、オーストリア２０位、ドイツ２１位) ＃１(全英７８位) ＃６(全英８７位) ＃７(ー) と本作から４曲のシングルがカットされました。 ＃３が大ヒットしたにもかかわらず当時日本未発売だったことから、残念ながら知名度が低いアーティストだった。 ブックレットに載っているが、甘いマスクで当時の人気がうかがえる。 個人的には８０年代の、あの頃の音が好きなのと＃３もリマスターで聴ける。ましてや今まで聴けなかった１stアルバムを聴いてみようと購入しました。 アルバム・セールスは商業的に成功ではなかったが、意外にもこれは好盤！本当に購入して良かった！です。 イギリス特有の、ほんのり湿り気がある中にもVoの高音が非常に気持ちが良く、キュートなポップからバラード、そしてボートラもアルバム通して大満足☆ 特にニック・カーショウ辺りが好きなリスナーならきっと気に入るサウンドだと思います。 ＵＫにおける全ディスコグラフィーと歌詞つき。
