This unique concert was recorded 16 April 1998 as the Berlin Philharmonic performed at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden, Berlin. The program, featuring Beethoven, Liszt and Wagner, also offered a rare gem: Robert Schumann's Concert Piece for four horns, this recording being the only DVD currently on the market to offer this work. Soloists include Dale Clavenger, Stefan Dohr, Ignacio Garca and Georg Schreckenberger. The Staatsoper was the first Royal Court Opera ever to be constructed outside of a royal palace; today it ranks among the most outstanding of Berlin's cultural beacons.
