70s後期〜80s初期のジャズ/フュージョン･シーンを代表するブルックリン出身のヴァイオリニスト ノエル･ポインターが80年に発表した4thアルバム 『Calling』の初CD化作品。アレンジャーのリチャード･エヴァンスとの共同制作から音楽性に新展開を見せた作品で、ほぼ全曲に亘って自身がヴォ ーカルを執っている。時折聞かせるエレクトリック･ヴァイオリン･ソロの端正な音色はいかにも彼らしい。アルバム中唯一のシングル曲「As Long As I Know’」では、元スプリームスのシェリー･ペインをはじめジェームス・ギャドソンやケニー･ムーアらをフィーチャーしている。
