Mother Bunch wants to make you dance. We also want to make you think, to consider your body, and the play of light in the room, but never so much that you'd forget to dance. A soul band, but without the suits and haircuts, or the 'groovy' sense of 'cool.' Mother Bunch was never cool, even before the meteor. Now this post-apocalyptic soul band is the last band standing, carrying generators on their backs along difficult mountain passes to bring music to remote encampments such as 'Portland' and 'Seattle.' Mother Bunch sings songs of lost times, and lost loves, and the lost things get up and dance ghostly to the music when the music starts. Mother Bunch is a friend to friendly ghosts. Mother Bunch is willing to transgress propriety and the limits of our own bodies to make you move. If we come away from our shows with sprains and black eyes, it's almost always worth it. Mother Bunch is less a 'soul' band than it is a 'collective unconscious' band. It's brand of soul is neither clean-shaven nor costumed with shades, but rather it is something buried, huge, and very old. Mother Bunch! Mother Bunch! Mother Bunch!
