This brand new, debut album has been a labour of love for Aoife. She worked with co-writer Gerry Owens to create Moth Complex - combining bruising rock with pop sensibilities and off-kilter electronics - all showcasing Aoife's powerful and gentle voice. 'I worked on these songs in my hometown of Dublin, Ireland,' Aoife explains, I wrote in my bedroom or walking around the city or on the bus. I have kept a journal for so long and writing for this album was really personal, just like my journal. I wrote about whatever was happening in my life or had happened - as a way to make sense of something or get something off my chest. Aoife and Gerry toyed with contrasts within the album - elements of darkness and light, loudness and quiet. A really good example is the song 'Insult to Injury', Aoife explains, It contrasts a percussive rhythm with heavily electronic tones with a bare acoustic chorus. The vocal line follows it all and as much as it contrasts, it all blends so nicely. Moth Complex has completed tours in Europe and the States, has shared a stage with powerhouse bands such as 30 Seconds to Mars and Lacuna Coil and enjoys partnerships with Jagermeister Music, Kramer Guitars, Amp Energy and others. 'You Don't Know', an upbeat pop-rock song full of energy and the first song on the album 'Moth Complex' is available for full band gameplay on Rock Band Network. Moth Complex songs are also featured on UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championships) on Spike TV. I love my album! says Aoife. These songs mean so much to me. Music is so intrinsic to the most wonderful experiences I've ever had in my life. It has been such a part of my family and growing up, has been a close friend through difficult times and is a part of my every day, she says.
