Product Description

Montevideo's longest album so far had to be called Transocenico, mainly because Montevideo are a Spanish-Argentinian duo, a project rooted in both sides o the Atlantic. Manu C. Villalba y Damiana Dubatti started this venture in 2002, setting out to create music with a penchant for delicate, distinguished, evoking dance pop, as proved by this record. in fact, it is a rich collection of songs inspired in carefully-chosen stories, landscapes and themes very personal for the band. This record is a whole, and thus must be listened to grasp Montevideo's way of understanding pop music. The band's vocal versatility ensures an unmonotonous experience that not many bands can beat. Their personal take on Tctica y estrategia, by Mario Benedetti (the genius from Montevideo) has helped them order the songs in the album. Last, some details Transocenicowas recorded in the Abrigueiro studios, in Friol (Lugo, Spain), was produced by Arturo Vaquero and features guest collaborator Marco 'Apenino' on guitar and ukulele, plus Arturo playing some more instruments. These two musicians have always been linked to Montevideo's career and give the magic touch that tops this record.
