The Man Behind The Mimes: Mark Ruester first began writing his own music at his mother's piano at age 4. Born in eastern Iowa near the Mississippi river, his family relocated to the Chicago area while; he was still a young child. By age 14 Mark took up electric bass guitar and began performing a wide variety of music from Rock to Jazz to Musicals. At college Mark studied music composition and computer science with the dream of someday becoming an award-wining composer. His music has been performed with local Rock Bands, Musicals and Variety Shows for years in the Chicago area. By 1988 Mark grew tired of the local Rock scene and took a hiatus from music for nearly a quarter of a century, to marry his sweetheart and raise a family. Throughout his years away from music, his love for music only grew stronger. By 2011, the music bug bit him hard, and the Mimes on Rollercoasters were born. December, 2012 marks the release of the first Mimes on Rollercoasters CD 'The First Date'.
