Royal Blue

This is a reprint of Royal Blue recorded live at Fandango on Siesta Key, FL originally released in 1994. This pressing is re-mastered by Johnterryl Plumeri. A wonderful collection of Standards, Bebop, Ballads and Blues featuring Michael Royal on piano, Gary Deary, bass, and Tony Jefferson, drums. Fandango was one of those long since-vanished jazz venues which regularly presented world class jazz artists including Manfredo Fest, Kenny Drew, Jr., Fred Johnson and Gumbi Ortiz. I would like to thank Fred Salih for providing the opportunity for all of us to keep playing music with this kind of range. Royal Blue plays as fresh today as it did 20 years ago. Original Album Notes: ' I could have made this project bigger than life in a state-of-the-art recording studio, but then, life is pretty big already. I feel this this ordinary effort is quite extraordinary - It's just musician's getting together playing music, and regular folks enjoying it. I hope you enjoy it also.
