Across The Way

Michael Matthias was born in Houston, Texas as the fifth child from a family of fourteen. His unusual, but loving childhood was centered on Christ, family, and music. At age 7 Michael began to write songs. Although these early songs may have been juvenile, it sparked a real passion in his heart to express himself through music. This passion drove Michael to become skilled at the piano, guitar, drums, and other instruments all without the help of professional instruction. His rsum includes over eight years of singing and playing in worship bands, and his musical exhibitions have ranged from Texas to Australia. He is currently the worship leader in the youth department of Lakewood Church under pastor Joel Osteen and has ministered in the sanctuary multiple times. Michael's heart is one that desires to influence the lives of people through the love of Jesus. His dream is that God continues to use his music to make an impact on this world.
