Swarms

Bird-Award winner Martijn van Iterson has come up with an excellent new album. It's his fourth album as a leader but his very first independently produced. Compared to his previous releases 'The Whole Bunch' (2004) and 'Streetwise' (2006), 'Swarms' is even more positive and up-beat sounding. Martijn is accompanied again by Karel Boehlee (Toots Thielemans Quartet) on Fender Rhodes this time, Frans van Geest (Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw) on Double Bass and Martijn Vink (Metropole Orchestra) on Drums. As mentioned before, this quartet has been working together for over two decades by now and it shows ! Effortless musical interaction is evident on every track.
