Nuance

Nuance is about the things I find attractive, notes pianist, composer, band leader Lisa Hilton of her twelfth stateside recording. It's the little things: A gesture or touch that we find most attractive, or as Ira Gershwin would put it, It's the way you wear your hat. It is the subtle details that create an individual's style or voice, and that's what I find most interesting as a composer and pianist. Hilton's compositions have consistently received top marks and longevity in airplay. She has been favorably compared in the press to Brad Mehldau, Oscar Peterson, Bill Evans and Dave Brubeck but her sound and touch are distinctive.
