The 'Layers of the Onion' are Martin Powell & Fredrik Ness Sevendal. Both of whom have been involved within the experimental / improvised music scene, since the mid to late 90's . in the UK and in Norway . Martin Powell is originally from West Bromwich in the West Midlands, UK, but started living, recording & playing in Oslo, Norway at the end of 2006. Fredrik Ness Sevendal is an Oslo native. They both have a long list of releases behind them. Powell is best known for his solo project Monolab, but also plays in Kobi, Cosmic Sonic Tag Team and 10 Seconds of Forever, to name but a few. Sevendal has released a couple of albums on his own as FNS, but is also involved in Slowburn, DEL, Kobi and Children and Corpse Playing in the Streets. The 'Layers Of The Onion' combine walls of acoustic layers, drone & folk infested soundscapes, minimalist shimmering phrases and complex melodic lo-fi ... Sometimes Beautifully Dreamy .
