ケンタッキー州ルイビル出身。幼少期に聖歌隊に参加、高校時代にはアカペラ・グループWALCで活動し、コンテストYouth Talent Internationalでグランプリを獲得。またLouisvilles Next Generation Musical Reviewのメンバーとしてアメリカはもちろん、欧州、ハワイ、バハマなどツアー参加。その間、様々なミュージカル・演劇で主演を務め、大学でも演技を専攻、ステージスキルを磨く。Patti Labelle、Sisqo、Toni Braxton、Busta Rhymes、Gladys Nihgtといった大物達とステージを共にしたL. Youngは作詞・作曲・アレンジ・プロデュースをこなす才能の持ち主。04年に『They Just don't Know』はインディソウル・ファンの間で大絶賛を受けましたが、それから4年、確実にスキルアップしたL. Youngが昨年ひっそりリリースしたのが本作。心温まるヴォーカル、創造的な歌詞、R&Bファンのツボを突く美メロ。アップもミディアムもスローもオーソドックスで、今どき珍しいくらい気を衒ったところがない作りです。
