RCA盤の「ロックン・ロール・ワルツ」に巡り逢えました。

ビッグバンド出身の歌手にしてはこの人、５０年代前半キャピトルレーベルにてヒルビリー・バップやＲ＆Ｂヴォーカルグループ等の大御所と共演したナンバーをリリース、積極的な活動をしていたようです。古い話になりますが日本のジャズ系シンガー雪村いずみさんと声がよーく似ているなーと思ったりしています。

Kay Starr really knows how to deliver a weepy country ballad and every song on this album is a winner. Have hoped this would be on cd for years. And it is great that it is being paired with TEARS AND HEARTACHES which is another great compilation of weepy ballads as only Kay can do them. Will be happy to add this one to my collection.
