One of Julie’s earliest albums it is also a winner. I did keep the LP version of this as well for all those super photos. Bobby Troup wrote ”February Brings the Rain” and ”This October” for her and she does a great job. I think her ”September in the Rain” is the best version of that song. Pete King and his orchestra back her up.

Volume one introduced Julie and ”Cry Me a River” to her fans. I kept the 12” version of both of these for the cover shots. But the albums are great too. Glad they are coming out again for those who may not have heard her. I love ”Laura” on volume one and volume two carries on the great tradition.

This is one of Julie’s finest albums. Recorded in her home it certainly captures her down home style. She is ably backed by Jimmy Rowles and jazz musicians. I am very happy to see this one reissued.
