Product Description

BIO Jonathan Kasper was born and raised in Buffalo, NY, where he got his start as a teenage rock singer in the vibrant Western New York club scene. A longtime Nashville, TN resident, Jonathan has traveled diverse musical roads during his adventurous career. He has performed Led Zeppelin on stage with electric violinist Tracy Silverman and Brazilian pop music with jazz vocalist and arranger Jeff Hall. He sang a major role in Tut, a Marcus Hummon music theater piece. On Jonathan's all-original jazz album, Fragile Heart, he worked with the legendary jazz pianist Beegie Adair. Jonathan has fronted professional Brit-rock bands, including the popular, Nashville-based Zig Zag, where he covered everything from The Beatles to The Stones, from The Who to David Bowie. He currently gigs with his original band Six Weeks to Live (6W2L). On his latest album In the Know, Jonathan takes a supercharged joyride into the world of melodic rock. Jonathan has earned advanced degrees in the field of education, and he and his musician wife run an independent music instruction business, KasperMusic Conservatory. BAND Jonathan Kasper has been on a roll. When he created 40+ songs in a short burst of inspiration, a band mate cried, 'It's as if you only had six weeks to live.' The name stuck. On their latest CD In the Know, the core ensemble of Six Weeks to Live (6W2L) includes: Jonathan Kasper, vocals Jerry Kimbrough, guitars Doug Kahan, electric bass Dann Sherrill, drums They are joined by Steve King on piano and keyboards, and assisted by producers Joe 'Guido' Welsh on guitar, percussion and keyboards and Dave Matthews on keyboards. BUZZ 'I've been around great songwriters my whole life. Jonathan Kasper's got the goods, and he delivers.' Bob Babbitt, Funk Brothers bassist 'I would've been proud to have written any of these songs [Fragile Heart].' Jack Keller, songwriter of hits, including 'Bewitched' TV theme '...

Great singer...the production is solid and the band is tight.' David Hooper, Music Business Radio 'Fantastic songwriting with a kick-ass rock & roll sound.' Christopher Allan Poe, award-winning novelist and touring musician '...blessed with a voice that's equal parts Hero Frontman and cagey, hook-dealing pop journeyman, his delivery is easily a match for the serious songcraft. Jonathan [Kasper] brings the better elements of better musical times into a perfectly modern light...' Rusty Russell, rock critic and journalist, formerly with Guitar Player Magazine 'Kasper's music is ... out of this world.' Richard Wicka, ThinkTwiceRadio 'A beautiful, versatile singing voice, Jonathan seems to do anything he wants to do vocally. I have always enjoyed listening to him, and this new rock project is no exception. I was singing along.' Beegie Adair, Steinway pianist.
