Reissued and re-mastered for superior sound of their 1985 album which Rolling Stone selected as #268 on their list of 'The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time'. Founded and led by brothers William and Jim Reid, guitarists and vocalists both, these Glasgow-based post-punk icons changed the course of Alt-Rock with their bold Velvet Underground-meets-Brian Wilson sound. Atmospherically dense, the Mary Chain was equal parts white noise and sweet pop-accessible and revolutionary-and they've never sounded better. The album includes the singles Never Understand, You Trip Me Up and Just Like Honey. The song Just Like Honey was featured on the soundtrack of the film Lost in Translation (2003).

この頃、リアルタイムでは、メタルしか聴いてなかった。多分、当時のカッチカチのメタル頭には、打っても響かなかったと思うけど・・・。で、もって今、初聴。時に暴力的でありながらも、狂おしく美しく脳内を洗浄するかのように浸食してくるこのギターノイズ、快感のるつぼ。

本来の内容は歴史的名盤。なのに（以前から）追加で「サム・キャンディ・トーキング」を入れているのは×。展開上次回作の「ダークランズ」に収録されるべき曲です。よくお兄ちゃん怒らないな。
