In structure Army of Strangers is decidedly a Rock orientated album with the openness of improv and warmth of instrumentation by Pete Fitzpatrick, guitar; Jonti Siman, bass guitar; Harris Eisenstadt, drums and Jessica Pavone, viola/violin. An active performer in New York City for the past decade, Jessica Pavone has been leading her own bands, has performed in ensembles led by Anthony Braxton, Matthew Welch, Jason Cady and Jeremiah Cymerman, as well as such collective groups as the Mary Halvorson/Jessica Pavone Duo and the Thirteenth Assembly., in addition to receiving grants regularly to compose chamber music.
