Digipak. Digitally remastered edition. Brave New World is the twelfth studio album by heavy metal band Iron Maiden, originally released on 29 May 2000. It was their first studio release since the return of longtime lead singer Bruce Dickinson (who left in 1993) and guitarist Adrian Smith (who left in 1990) in 1999, as well as the band's first studio recording as a six-piece, as Janick Gers, who replaced Smith in 1990, remained with the band. The songs The Wicker Man and Out of the Silent Planet were both released as singles.

メイデンの歴史の中でもトップクラスの完成...

メイデンの歴史の中でもトップクラスの完成度を誇る名盤だと思います。ただ、2019年に発売されたスタジオ・コレクション・リマスタードの音源とオリジナル盤を聞き比べてみたのですが音にほぼ違いは感じられませんでした。2000年発売のアルバムという事で元々音質が良好だったのですでに持っている人はわざわざ買い直す必要はないかなと思いました。

ブレイズの歌唱に辟易していた世界中のファンにとって、ブルース復帰は慶事であった。しかもトリプルギター編成になるなんて！！バンドとしては歴代最強メンバーとなった今作は、③がベストトラックかな。その他にも佳曲がずらり。

メイデンのアルバムの中でも、メンバーの復帰などとも相まって、楽曲も過去最高レベルでドラマティックに仕上がっています。 ①～③のたたみかける展開も最高ですが、後半も味のある曲が多く、一気に聴き終わってしまう印象があります。「何だこのスタートは？」と思わせる曲もあるのに、だんだんとドラマティックな展開を見せる楽曲に惚れてしまいました！⑤は「空耳アワー」で紹介されていましたが、ドラマティックに歌い上げるブルース・ディッキンソンの歌詞が「少年の部屋ー・・・、少年の毛ー？」と聞こえてしまって、思わず笑ってしまい、それ以降、その曲はそのようにしか聞こえなくなってしまいました(笑)。本当に良い曲なんだけどなぁ。
